Cho Lab operates the Cho Lab website and Android application. This policy explains how information is handled when you use these services.
Public visitors may browse without creating an account. When a member account is created or used, we may process a username, email address, phone number, password hash, affiliation, position, biography, profile images, posts, comments, chat messages, uploaded files, and other content voluntarily submitted by the user. Session cookies and basic server logs may be used for authentication, security, and reliable operation.
Information is used to provide member access, profiles, lab communication, boards, file sharing, site administration, security, and technical support. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
The service is hosted through PythonAnywhere and may rely on infrastructure providers necessary to deliver the website and application. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or with the user’s direction.
Account and user content are retained while needed to provide the service. Users may request deletion at any time using the account and data deletion page. When an account is deleted, profile data and associated user content are removed or de-identified, except where limited retention is required for security, legal compliance, or system backups.
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but reasonable safeguards are used to protect account and site data.
The service is intended for lab members, collaborators, prospective researchers, and general visitors. It is not directed to children under 13.
